Didn't you get the memo? BLAIR WENT UP THERE ON HER OWN. Also, she deserved it.

i did but refused to read it. :)

i really wonder why we're all still spec'ing and watching the way we do. it's like a compulsion.

I refuse to believe a show I loved this much and have spent this much fannish time on (definitely my most involved fandom ever) can legit be this heinous. I keep thinking that all of this ought to be building to SOMETHING, but I think I just need to let go of that hope.

this is the first time i've been involved in a fandom while the show is still airing. it's different with my other fandoms... all i'm after is closure. this, this is exhausting. the hoping, then the sudden depression and rage after hearing something senseless or heinous. the emotional roller coaster is too much... but i'm still on it oddly enough. why does this show deserve my time?

i'm just really hoping that this time around i'm not on another doomed ship. where all i'll have at the end are AU fanfics to keep me warm. i mean, i'm still traumatized with Kara and Lee.

see, this is why i still keep thinking that the IP had to happen. it just had to. it had to be part of the setup. because that's the only way that all the character derailment makes sense.

Yes, I think it's unfair too how the writers treat Blair. When disgusting things happen to the other characters, they aren't overlooked. And, the villian that caused it has to pay. But with Blair, they refuse to acknowledge just how badly Chuck treated her.

What unnerves me more than IP is how the writers keep trying to twist Blair into something she isn't. Yes, she's scheming and manipulative, but only for a just cause (like trying to save a friend). Sometimes she does it for selfish reasons, but mostly not. It drives me nuts that in "High Society," she said the MAIN reason why she and Chuck would never work is because he's underhanded and schemes about everything, and that goes against her very fiber. But by 2.07, suddenly Blair and Chair had been rewritten to make it all about how their whole relationship (and she especially) was about dirty scheming. Ugh. NOT SO!!!! I think that's why I liked her with Dan, because she was her vintage self, who only schemed for justice, not just because she felt like it.

i think this is the point of divergence between Chair stans and Blair stans. Blair's characterization is such a hotly debated topic because people want her to remain layered and bitchy, but what "bitch" means varies depending on the person. i am surprised that there are grown women who continue to want Chuck redeemed just so that they can be ok with pairing him with Blair. i don't know if it's resignation talking - accepting the "inevitable" but might as well make it bearable. i personally like the idea of redeeming Chuck, but not in order for him to be with anyone. it is the same for Serena. Serena's redemptions NEVER stick because she doesn't actually do it for herself. she does it to prop her idea of being Dan's perfect girlfriend, to stick it to her mom, to stick it to her dad. it is never about just accepting herself and screw what everyone else thinks.
