Why did I sign up for NaNoWriMo? What insanity possessed me when I don't even have the guts to do an inception big bang? What the heck is wrong with me

Thank you! God I need hugs all around. Here I was in front of my laptop and sheer panic just froze my brain. I couldn't work. I couldn't read. I couldn't type. I got my notebook out and I'm just staring at it. All these thoughts all jumbled up and I just shut everything down and left everything on my desk and headed home. Yes, a good 12 hour break from thinking of any fiction and work was what I needed. And love from writer friends such as yourself

Hey, take a deep breath and think this one through. If you think a deadline will help with inspiration, go for it!
And I am so not glaring, I promise. Totally understand you've got other stuff you are working on, and that's a secondary thing. You have to triage your writing sometimes.
Don't worry so much, even if you fail at Nano it's not a tradgedy. It's all about having fun. Reaching the goal is a secondary thing, what's important is having your creative juices flow. I'm doing this for the first time and as I'm not an experienced writer and university is pretty crazy right now I have pretty slim chances of reaching 50k, but still I'm participating to enjoy myself. Also, you're a good writer, so you needn't worry so much ;)
Thank you so much. Yup, in the middle of all the work and the deadlines the fun got left behind in the wayside. I'm just going to focus on the fun aspect of this whole exercise and if I don't finish I'm ok with that. Thanks for saying I'm a good writer. I know I am a writer, and occasionally I tell myself I am good but what I hope for one day is to be great. Whenever that would be.
At least you have the guts to sign up for it! I can't even do that much... not to mention three research papers due this month are kicking my butt. Like I told another webbie of mine, you are AMAZING at what you do. If it takes a while, well it's worth the wait. And because you are AMAZING at writing, whatever you do is going to be Legen- wait for it... DARY!

1. Give yourself a minimum amount you will accept
2. Provide yourself uninterrupted time to write it.
3. POST WHETHER YOU ARE COMPLETELY HAPPY WITH IT OR NOT.
Shocking how much help it is to have that sort of dread-filling inspiration kicking you into high gear. I know... I do this on a semi-regular basis.
SO VERY PROUD!!!! You go, girl!!! K :>)
