David Lynch is coming to the U of O on Nov. 8 to talk about "Consciousness, creativity and the brain: The inside story on transcending and the brain" ( www.davidlynchtour.com ). This sounds pretty interesting. Although, I would prefer to have him talk about how awesome he is. But, hell, transcendence can't be all that bad. As a rule, I try not ( Read more... )

i think the problem with your anti-creativity movement is that it ends up looking like a satire of popular entertainment and art. in that respect, it is in fact fairly creative and therefore ironic and brilliant. if you really want to contribute nothing, just write books about cats with names like "miss princess" and "snugglelumpkins," who have curious adventures in the back yard ( ... )

yeah, last night, after that entry, i started thinking about what the core idea of an anticreativity movement would be and all i could come up with is that it would be satirical of others, which the entry ended up being. nonetheless, it would be great to write stuff that is almost like some of these popular genre, but then it just takes the wind out of your sails and ends up being commonplace. it reminds me of the vaudeville sketch on kids in the hall where the one guy is all vaudeville like, and the other is all "I see what your problem is. 'who' is the name of the person on first base. You're confused because that sounds like a question, but that is his name. I think it's Japanese."

the dog should have the same name as the dad: Spot. It should be called "In the Wrong Spot".

i had to listen to that track after that. thank you. it made me feel good inside.

I can't help but think "University of Orgasm" every time I see you write "U of O". Must be a nice place to live.
