John Willliams' music for the Star Wars trilogy contains some of the most popular and recognizable film music in history. Much of this is because of the monumental social impact that the film series had, becoming the reigning mythology for an entire generation (and swelling both George Lucas' bank account and ego to Death Star-like proportions).

I remember my first time with this mix. I was actually shocked at how fresh and new it sounded despite the pervasiveness you mention above :D

The new version of the disc has all of the strengths of the previous versions, but is a bit better balanced throughout. There is still an action sequence preceding the finale, but now its six minutes instead of ten. When I made my first revision, I wasn't really happy with it, the second was more satisfying. This one has already supplanted the old ones for several reasons, most obviously sound quality, but also it's just a better presentation of the material.
Egads! The version of the cover I uploaded is actually one of my draft versions!
The final version is almost identical except that “John Williams” is in Haettenschweiler instead of Impact and “Music from the Original Trilogy” is in Serif Gothic, which is the font used for the credit blurb on the poster art for the original releases of Star WarsI will have to upload the final version and replace this one. The differences are minor, and I might not have ( ... )
