Audio recorders and larping

Jun 10, 2014 13:26

What would people think if a player brought a personal audio recorder to the larp and left it on all weekend?

Would your reaction be any different if it were a staff member?

Just curious. I am not planning on recording you.

Except for you. You are already being recorded. Right now. You know who you are.

Supposedly, this was one of the reasons Polymorph went away. Someone polymorphed to an insect to record a meeting of old Capulus using this method. Wound up being a stink out of game due to MA state law about secret recordings, by my understanding and was adjudicated out of play.

I never confirmed the story with anyone who would have been actually involved, so can't be 100% sure it is accurate.

Good point about the MA wiretapping laws.

I wouldn't mind, whether it were a player or staff.
I'd want to *know*, but I wouldn't mind.

The GM for our Changeling game records each session, and I think that's pretty cool. It enables him to give us an accurate transcription of everything that happened so we don't have to stress out about where we were.
