Is a tomato a fruit or a vegetable? Apparently, the Supreme Court has already decided. (See Wikipedia for a more readable summary of the case.)

Legally speaking, the tomato is a vegetable for commerce and taxation purposes -- but scientifically speaking, a tomato is a berry, so it's a fruit. Then again, cucumbers are scientifically fruits... and so are squashes. It really depends on what qualities one assigns to "fruit" and what to "vegetable" and where one draws one's own line.
