It was my 18th birthday last week, and I had so much fun!! I had two parties, one was a few days earlier with my family and relatives at a persian resturaunt/disco (which was a hoot!) and another one with my friends which was on the actual day of my birthday. The second party we had a costume party cause it was so close to halloween, and I dressed ( Read more... )

Ah, happy birthday Swede! Wow, 18. I'm glad you had such a fun time.

And I know what you mean about the Reese/Ryan thing. I really loved them together.

Me too. I had heard about them going to counselling and stuff, but I never saw THIS coming! It seems like everyone's getting a divore nowadays. One of my uncles just got seperated and is probably getting divorced soon, and someone else we know is getting a divorce after 17 years and three kids. It makes me so upset.

Divorce is so common nowadays and it's very upsetting. Depressing even, I'd say. At least for me. There's been alot of divorces in my family among my aunts and uncles. Most recently, one of my aunts is having marriage problems and she and her husband are separated right now. They've only been actually married for a few years but they've known each other and been together much longer - ever since I can remember...since I was younger. It is saddening to see how easily marraiges fall apart these days.

I believe marriage is a lifetime committment and yet that doesn't seem to be the norm anymore.

Oh it's the same in my family. Everyone has divorced at least one time. Even my grandmother, and that's just my mothers side, I have divorced aunts and uncle's at my fathers side too. My uncle and his second wife are very happy though (knock on wood!). They've been together for 12 years, they have two kids and another one coming, and they seem to be in love with eachother just as much as they were when they were newlyweds.

I just hope that when get married someday, it will be with the right person and that it will last. I look at my grandmother and I keep thinking that I never want to end up like that, growing old alone. Her life would be so much easier if she had a companion.
