the trouble with the world today is plain to see

So after living in my current residence for just over a year, I finally have the baristas at my local Starbucks knowing what I drink, which makes me happy ( Read more... )

That would be really annoying. I wish I knew how to help but I'm not very confrontational about things like that, although there are certainly times when I should be. Could you maybe speak with the manager?

Yeah, I'm confrontational in my personal life, but with things like this, I'm just not. Still, this is the third time in two weeks it's happened. sigh. Stupid badly-made beverage!

Well, if you know the other folks that work there, kindly make a comment to them. See if they can work it out for you. Screw the mean girl, when you pay for something, especially something as expensive Starbucks, then you deserve for it to be right. When my bras from Target didn't fit, I took them back. Should be the same for Starbucks.

A bra isn't quite the same as a latte, but I get your drift. heeeeeee. Indeed. I'll try to talk to the other baristas soon, because there's no reason something shouldn't be made correctly. It'd be one thing if I was just picky. Uh, no. That certainly isn't this.

Oh nooo, you? Picky? About coffee? Certainly not. Heee. And why shouldn't a bra be just as important as coffee? So yeah, one keeps the girls holstered, but the other actually goes into your body...which, unless you have a stray underwire, bras usually don't.

"Rachel...help! My bra's in my ass!" Ellen

Agh! Stray underwire! That happened to me once and I didn't know it, and it was quiiiiiite bad. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!

Listen, I'm picky about coffee but only so much. I order it how I want it, and unless they actually DO SOMETHING WRONG, I don't care. Four shots, nonfat, caramel syrup. That's it! But nothing mixes and the ice melts and it's gross. blah.

Bras are MORE important than coffee... that was actually my original point. Especially for girls such as us.

Honestly? You should talk to the other people the day she isn't there, and tell them that that girl makes terrible drinks, and if they wouldn't mind stepping in and making your drink when she's working. They probably have heard similar complaints before, and this might be all that is needed to finally get that woman fired.

And I never think getting someone fired is impolite. If they are bad at their job, then they deserve it.

Emma, I think I love you.

(So what am I so afraid of?)

You're absolutely right. And she can't possibly work every day.

I do have a gift for getting my way while avoiding all semblance of REAL confrontation.

You should say something. It's the truth... you pay a lot for that drink, and you go in often. If she's not making it right ask one of the other girls to make it. I had one guy come in and always ask me to make his Iced Venti Concoction of 4 syrups 4 shots, etc. latte because I was the only one who could get it right. Actually, if you notice someone who does it well just ask if they can do it when theyre there. It's a compliment.

Ah, Carey, you are so right, because I too was once a barista, and I had many customers who wanted me to make their drinks, and that made me feel awesome. And my drink is fairly straightforward... I don't know why she insists on putting in the ingredients in such a weird order. I haven't worked at a Starbucks but I know drink consistency is a big deal to them - hell, it's one of the reasons I'm so loyal to them.

I agree with Carey, but also if you want to get the message across without identifying yourself, maybe comment cards?

Definitely not a bad idea... I wish they wore nametags. "The wench with the really badly-chosen pink lipstick won't make my drink correctly!" seems a bit harsh.
