So I'm making a Neko Case mix CD for a friend who's never heard her, but likes folk/country stuff. What would you consider necessities in Neko Case 101? I want a good overview.
Poll Neko Case mix CDIt was kinda surreal to see the whole gang on Leno last night. Also, the Tonight Show is really heinous. Someone needs to tell Larry the Cable Guy that homophobia is not ( Read more... )

1) Good call on the Leno number, I owe you five Flotard Points, which is a currency I just invented.

2) I think after "alone, thank god" is "with a valium from the bride" which, if I'm right, is a fabulously twisted line. Though this could be one for ye olde wayback misheard lyrics website.

3) As for me, I cannot understand the line right before the "hold on"s, starting with "that" and then "eskdjsklasdjf hold on, hold on hold on."

4) See poll.

5) Your roommate situation makes me sad because it sounds exactly like my roommate situation, which is sad too. I also cannot wait to move and am totally jumping out of my skin with anticipation. (Summertime, at the latest.) Take care dude!

1) I thought of you last night when I heard "Hold On, Hold On" start up. Maybe I should be a bettin' lady!

(No worries. Of course I accept the recently-invented Flotard Points!)

2) No, I think you're right. I kept thinking it sounded like "with a Valium from the ground" which bothered me because the five-second rule is a myth and one should not get their Valiums that way. I think yours is right, which makes me love Neko even more. Yes, that is possible!

3) I am listening to the song right now, just for you, just to try to decipher. "That echo calls" is what I'm getting out of the first bit, but that's ALL. That's a tough one.

4) I think you and my other Liz (offscreen) have nearly identical tastes in Neko songs, except "Make Your Bed" scares her and she won't even listen to it. My mom wanted me to copy Neko CDs for her at one point, and she said to make sure to include "that song about taking people to the river and killing them, I like it a lot!" Thanks, Mom ( ... )

See, I promise much less roommate drama once you move in. Besides, I basically live at work now, sad, I know

Yeah, I'm fairly convinced that you and I will see each other very little, though I also am fairly convinced there will be nooooo drama. And woo hoo for that!

I might have some time Sunday to bring by boxes... will you or your roommate be home at all?

Hey, could you hook me up with that mix, too? The only Neko song I have is the one from the onthestairs super playlist.

That one's on this mix too, because I don't believe in an intro-to-Neko-Case CD without "Deep Red Bells". I'll email you these files today!

Please make an exception for David Cross as Russ Lieber on The Colbert Report.

He gets an exception too!

(I'm playin' fast and free with the exceptions, aren't I?)

(Parenthetical P.S. You didn't happen to save that one on your Tivo, did you?)
