I have several questions about XP, y'all.

If I install it, how long will it take?
Will I lose my favourites/programmes/brushes/fonts?
Does it cause any viruses or such?

Thanks. My mother uninstalled it when I loved it and she rarely uses the computer anymore and I want it back.

About 45 minutes to reformat (reformatting wipes your hard drive clean, installing an OS over an old OS is never a good idea, and it will reformat before you install (and also give you several warnings before you do so)), and install it. Then you have to do the automatic updates, which can take awhile since you have to reboot. Then you have to re-install all your old programs, fonts, brushes, and whatever else you have on your computer. And then you have to set the settings to however you like them ot be.

Before doing ANY of this, you should back up all the things you want to save. IE favorites, program installers, fonts, or whatever. Or at least make a good detailed list as to what you have so that you can go and re-download them once more after the installation has been completed. Saving IE favorites can be done by going to the File tab and hitting the Import/export button, export them, and then import them when you get the system back up. Its kind of important to do that, or you will lose all your favorites.

Hopefully you have a CD-R to burn some of this stuff to a cd, that makes it really quite easy.
