I was just wondering....why is Sweeney the bottom a lot of the time? I just always imagine him as the top, what with his shiny murderous blades. I just wanted to hear your opinions, out of curiosity, why do you look at Mr Todd as the bottom? :D

It really depends on the situation, though. Like he's the sort who knows what (or who...hahaha) he wants, but in some places I've put him he's been all...caught off-guard.
Oh--and also, of course, time! This being the 1800s or so and Todd being a proper gentleman, (or as proper as one can be while killing people and making them into pies) sometimes it just works better to use Anthony (a reckless young thing! ...grrr! xD) being, I dunno, filled with animal lust or something, or Turpin who's an amoral bitch! :) Bahaha.
Or there's also Barker... but when you're writing Barker/Todd there's really a lot more explanation required than why Todd is on the bottom. xDD
I hope my overly lengthy explanation helped!

I write loads myself, actually, (which I will probably post here someday) with the explanation that Todd has repressed bisexual urgessss but is, y'know, crazy and all. And so while he is craving the other, more male half of his sexuality and whatnot, his addled mind is like "hmmm let's seeee good male figure..." and since the man he used to be is the one he wants most--his wacked-out psycho mind creates some Barker/Todd. :)
...I am posting a lot of longish replies! xD
