So funny thing. I got summoned for jury duty then I went and got my name officially changed and re-registered under my new name...so my jury summons is totally null and void, because its for me in my maiden name.

So I guess I don't have to go because thats not my name!

I don't think it works that way.

I'm not even registered under that name. So please explain how it would work? I can't go anyway, I have a Dr's appointment that day.

Let's say you ran up a credit card bill. Can you change your name and get out of paying the bill? No. The same principle applies here. It's still you.

Being preggers and all the fun stuff going on with that will most likely get you out of it anyway. Just call the courthouse and see what you have to do.

Mmmk maybe they're not as strict as they are in FL. They get pissed if you just don't show up and the nice men with badges and guns show up. :o) They excuse medical reasons it happens with my dad all the time - but just not showing up really pisses them off. Oh well. Big deal.
