Well, does a Golden have any diet restrictions? A quick google search on that would answer those questions.

Personally, we use Canidae because it's perfect for the Greyhound's picky dietary restrictions:

All Natural and made with No Corn, Wheat, Soy, Grain Fractions, Fillers or by products and Naturally Preserved!

Of course the drawback, is that it's pricey -- at 30-35$ for a bag that lasts about 6 weeks (our dog is 80lbs though).

Thanks! I forgot you had Greys :) I don't know a lot about goldens, so I'm not sure on the dietary restrictions.

<< The "guy at the horse feed store" >>

I'm laughing. When Dad and Aunt were kids, Aunt's class went on a field trip to the dog pound. (She was 7 at the time, Dad was 4). Aunt came home bubbling about the puppy who tripped over his ears and paws, and he's got such big paws and he's so cute, Mommy and Daddy, pleeeaaase?

It turned out to be The St. Bernard Who Ate Kingston, NH, also known as Tommy. My grandfather got in mind to weigh him, once, but the scale at the vet's office couldn't handle him. They had to take Tommy to the cattle scale at the feed store, and he ended up weighing MORE than Gramps!

My best friend in VT had a Golden for 11-1/2 years, but I know they kept Emma's coat trimmed, because they did take her out in the countryside, especially during the summer when they went up to their place in the Champlain Islands. So I really couldn't say what Emma's coat should have looked like.
