Anyways, after boating, we went to the fish market, grabbed food, and hung out at Lance's house. In other news, my birthday was earlier last month. I went with the family to Et Voila! which is a Belgian place up in Foxhall. I had rabbit and a nice Belgian beer. For desert, we had Belgian waffles and pastry with Hoegarden ice cream.
As for the birthday - I have to do the year - to date review. So...where to begin...heh... I was supposed to be coming back from Turkey last year on the Accenture project around that time. Even though it was work, I thought of it somewhat as a birthday gift. Well, as we all know, that did not exactly work out as planned. Anyways, later in the month, I was in Hong Kong/Hanoi/Tokyo. That was amazing. Then, I was rushed back to Washington, D.C. and the drama with Accenture/State Department began. By November, I had counsel. Accenture counsel originally tried to offer me $10,000 to cover lawyers' fees but that is a bit stupid. In December, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) FINALLY opened their investigation into the State Department/Accenture matter.
The holidays came and went. Winter melted into Spring. I was SUPPOSED to have a position with a prominent technical defence contractor but the prime contractor on the contract did not think I had enough years of experience. EVERYONE - all the way up to the vice president of the division - was on the phone begging the prime contractor to let them hire me for this project. All that did not work out.
