Thanks! I did all the straight seams by machine, so it went fast, and I have to admit, that the hems on the overskirt and underskirt are like 1 stitch per inch! I'll be pulling them out sometime and making it a little bit more, uh, sturdy!

Seriously, you are amazing. Bustle-era gowns kind of frighten me, with all the draping and everything, so the fact that you're able to crank them out so quickly (and make them look amazing in the process!) is just mind-boggling!

Go you!

They terrified me, too! But turns out, they aren't that difficult. Depending on the bodice you choose, at least. The long bodices are a bit difficult for me, and require a few headaches to fit, but if you do the short bodice with a separate peplum, it's just like an 1860s bodice. And the skirts were surprisingly easy.

But, you're not allowed to do a bustle gown until you finish 1810s stuff for Genesee!! ;)

Don't worry--bustle stuff is *way* down on my list of historical clothing to make (mostly because I don't exactly have anywhere to wear it!)

...and re: Genesee--is it just Saturday/Sunday? When are people going up? I'm still not sure how I will be able to manage to get there--it's 12 hours by train from DC to Rochester, which is I think as close as I can get...or I could try to meet someone somewhere to go up *bats eyes* But I really want to make this happen! :-)
