[PATTERN] Broomstick Lace Armwarmers

Right, so this is mainly for Miss Neha's benefit, since she asked for the pattern to my armwarmers and I had been in the middle of making another pair anyway. But feel free to use it if you fancy making yourself a pair.

I've tried to make this as easy to read as possible, but I tend to never write down my own patterns (this was roughly scribbled in ( Read more... )

Pictures = 1000 words!
Thank you, this is greatly appreciated! Just today I bought some crochet needles too!
It reads really well except the yo and loop bits sound a bit confusing but I think that will make sense when I get up to that part in practice :D
I know you said you don't know the yarn you used but can you say vague things about it? Like maybe it's alpaca wool or cotton or smth...or um...the thickness? The thickness of the yarn would affect how it turns out, right? And maybe affects the the process as well? I don't know much about fibres either so a general suggestion would be good but I can always just get frisky with the yarn in Lintcraft ;)
But this is great...the pictures are so helpful, like a pro manual.

Yeah, I didn't quite know how to explain the lace bit, but if you google 'broomstick lace', you should be able to find better instructions for that bit.
I probably should've just said that in the first place...
I know I have the label somewhere (I don't throw them out). It was a Patons brand from Lincraft. I think it may have been called Smoothie or something. It's just acrylic. I'll have a look again tomorrow and amend the pattern if I find it.

oooh so pretty, I really like the green though the creamy one was nice too. Your tut seems pretty straightforward, very clear. I'm so tempted to make them but I've got enough half-finished things already. Who's that laughing on your screen? I thought it was Barrowman for a minute but I don't think it is.

Yeah, I love the green colour. I don't have anything that matches it though. -_-'
Let me know how it goes when/if you get around to making it.

Oh, it's Adam Hills. I was watching one of his stand-up DVDs while I was making it.
