<3's

I know how you feel. I've finally decided that I have to just live with the fact that I will never be out of debt. I think most people today do have that problem. It's impossible to afford anything unless you start out having EVERYTHING already. It's a really terrible cycle.

It's not impossible, it's just very very improbable. My parents are proof that the American dream is still attainable, or at least it was 25 to 15 years ago. Unfortunately, they are a rarity, and they had one very important advantage: they came from a country that provided free and good education. As poor as they were, they were able to go to very good universities and both get Masterses, one of which was recognized here in America (my mom's teaching degrees weren't though).

But I agree, its hard to get it all if you don't start out near the top. I'm in one of the only professions where you can get BS to PhD paid for by the universities themselves (Mathematician). If it wasn't so reviled in this country there might be less money to spread around. For every profession that's not hated, the going is tough, for every profession that's highly sought after, it's nearly impossible.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to change it.

Yeah but that's the point, they came from somewhere else. If you get a degree in another country then go to the US, much easier. I've tried to get a degree in the US and the UK and because my parents were born in the US and had low income jobs but weren't DIRT poor, I got small loans and that was for a state school that was relatively cheap. However, I now live in the UK and am able to go to University. In fact, after I've got my degree in a this country (England) I will probably be much more able to go back to the US and have a good life there.

That's the sad bit. It was easier for me to go to a different country and make something of my life than it was to do in my own country.

Rich people get richer, poor people get poorer, lazy jackasses that take advantage of welfare continue taking advantage of it. People that actually need welfare can't get it. Don't you love the good ol' USA.

Well, if everyone was the man, then there wouldn't be anyone left to damn them.

In my experience the people that have the money aren't better off for it. I'm happy as long as I have a roof over my head and a can of tomatoes. Sunshine is free, it's just the sun lotion that costs money.

If I was rich, I'd probably end up giving it away. Of course I'm talking about me now, and we all know that I'm special.

Anyway renting can be nice. Right now I wish I was renting my house, cause then I could leave it for a better one, I wouldn't even have to tidy up.

Hmmm, this just seems like too good an idea, moving from house to house, never needing to tidy, shame I'll have to tidy up this house first.

But yeah, the American dream. Doesn't exist. It's all a sham for the benefit of tourists and assholes. It's all a cover for the people that have had their parents put in a home to sell their house (Hmmm, more ideas for me).

But in conclusion... You'll feel much happier being raped in the ass compared to putting your mum in a home.

Not that there aren't a lot of things wrong with this country, but the American dream does exist. It's just gotten really damn hard to achieve.

Well I've just had a long hot bath.

Forget everything I said.

Due to high expectations everyone has of me; I have to be an internationally renowned computer programmer before I'm allowed to be happy.

I need to be a multi millionaire and live in a huge mansion.

The end

(But it'll never happen)
