I just watched 'finding neverland' and i sincerely don't want to grow up. I don't mind getting older, i look forward to being older, but i don't want to become boring. I think that what "they" want is for the child in all of us to die and be replaced by an automaton that works, buys and consumes, pays taxes and obeys all the rules. Like a cog in the machine, they want us numb to the world and all its wonders because if more people saw the world in all its wonder as a child, then they might resist the efforts to makes us less than what we are. To turn a unique human into a clock work cog that sits in a cubical all day earning money that they then spend on what advertising tells them to. To live and die a numb existence as nothing more than a expendable resource to some faceless company. If we could see the world in all its wonder as with the eyes of a child we would not so easily manipulated.
