I agree with this in part... I think I am the same way. Although one sticky thing about LJ is that it can tell you who a person is deep down, but not who they are on the surface. People put their best or most honest foot forwards. That is the opposite of normal interaction, and it is good and bad. Because you do get to know who they are, or who they might be... but you don't get to know the person on the surface. And then when you meet that person, you still have to deal with the surface stuff, which may not be what you're expecting. (I speak from personal experience here.)
