Summary: Kim Junsu is the son of a wealthy family. When the coffee company of his father is facing bankruptcy, he's forced to marry Park Yoochun. However, the problem is that they're both not gay... Or are they?
Once upon a time in a land far far away, there lived a boy called Kim Junsu. He was just an ordinary boy with an ordinary family who lived an ordinary life. Thus, there was nothing out of the ordinary. You might ask yourself why you’re reading this ordinary story about an ordinary boy who lived an ordinary life. Well, that’s a question worth asking. As the narrator of the story, I wouldn’t know either why you are reading this story and personally, I think it’d be better to help your mother with cooking, to study for school or to annoy some little children at the playground. That might be more fun than reading this ordinary story about the ordinary Kim Junsu.
No? I see you’ve decided to stay. Good, where was I?
Like I said before, Kim Junsu was an ordinary boy who lived an ordinary life. He went to school like every boy his age, he joked around with his twin brother - they occasionally fought as well, just like ordinary siblings - and he had a few good friends, though his best friend was Lee Hyukjae, someone who he knew since kindergarten. In other words, he was the typical boy next door. His parents were ordinary people, his mother a nosy but good-hearted lady in her forties who liked to gossip with the neighbors. His father was someone who had worked hard in order to establish his own company which he had called Coffee Prince and after a good seven years of hard work, it all had finally started to pay off. It wouldn’t be a big surprise to say that his company specialized in producing coffee.
Even though the Kim family was richer than the average family living in this land far far away, they were very modest. Once in a while, they would donate money to charities and another once in a while, Junsu and Junho would get some meaningless presents like a Rolex, the newest iPad or a Blackberry. Besides these handy gadgets, they had closets filled with designer clothes. From Tommy Hilfiger shirts to Dolce and Gabbana suits for special occasions, from Gucci sunglasses to Louis Vuitton murses (because duh, male purses were totally the newest hit), you name it, they have it.
Yes, they were modest people; rich, modest people. You wouldn’t expect them to walk around in a rag, right?
Maybe I exaggerated a little bit. Maybe, Junsu didn’t live this ordinary life. Maybe, I was just too lazy to be the narrator of this story and maybe, just maybe, I hoped that everyone wouldn’t be interested in the story of Kim Junsu. Maybe.
But probably not.
Anyway, back to the story. It wasn’t until Junsu was 25 years old that his ordinary life changed completely. He had just returned from a year studying in America, Japan and China and had become fluent in English, Japanese and Chinese. It was a very common fact in this land far far away that you would become fluent in languages when you’ve studied abroad. Even if you didn’t become fluent and happened to speak in the heaviest accent ever, nobody would notice because the ordinary people didn’t even know what you were saying.
However, Junsu had easily picked up Japanese and Chinese. English had been very hard for him but after a few missteps in America, he had learned quickly. (For the curious people, one of his missteps was saying “You want me, I want you!” to a girl which had resulted in a slap across the face… Junsu had just assumed that the girl was having her period which had caused her to be in a bad mood).
After his return in this land far far away, he had been greeted by his parents. Junsu hadn’t noticed the pale and unhealthy complexion of his father and he hadn’t noticed the nervous appearance of his fidgeting mother either. It wasn’t until dinner that Junsu discovered the reason of the uneasiness of his parents.
“Son, we have to tell you something,” the low voice of his father spoke. The clattering sound of the cutlery faded away as the whole family focused on the words of the head of the family. “By we, I mean, your mother and I.”
“Sure, what’s it?” Junsu asked.
“Things… aren’t going well with the company. We might go bankrupt… unless… you can do your father a favor,” his father spoke, his voice grave, his solemn look piercing through Junsu’s whole being.
“What?! Why didn’t you tell me earlier that your company had problems? Of course, I’m doing it! I can’t stand doing nothing, how am I supposed to see your hard work crumble away in front of me?” Junsu said, not hesitating to offer his help. Even though Junsu had been spoiled by his father, he wasn’t a bad person and he had always been pure-hearted. Maybe it was thanks to his friendship with Hyukjae who was financially worse off than him but who was always smiling and thinking of others.
“We… can save Coffee Prince if you are willing to marry the son of the CEO of Jinjin Foods. I know this idea might not suit you since you’re not gay but his father proposed this idea to me. Of course, you can date him first if you want to but remember that, if you don’t accept this idea, Coffee Prince won’t even last for another month… Please think your choice through…”
Those words stunned Junsu. His eyes searched for a glint of humor in his father’s eyes but they weren’t there nor were they in his mother’s eyes or in Junho’s. How could they even think that he’d be marrying a man.
“Of course, we wouldn’t want you to become gay… but please, just for a year, until we have established our company again… after that, we can request a divorce,” his mother begged, leaving Junsu even more stunned. They wanted to not only use him but also the son of Jinjin Foods’s CEO. “We’ve heard that the son of Mr. Park has especially requested for you; he has seen your picture and he liked you.”
And this is how Junsu’s journey began. Even though he didn’t like the idea of pretending to be a gay lover, he knew he would help his parents a lot with this. He talked things through with Hyukjae who voiced his outrage but Hyukjae couldn’t change anything. Junsu would help his parents, no matter what.
If I were Junsu, I would have never done it but who am I? Just a silly narrator trying to get my two seconds of fame. Right, we’ll do a time jump because I don’t even get paid for telling this story. So much for your bedtime story.
“Hi, I’m Kim Junsu, nice to meet you,” Junsu said, shaking the hand of the person who was joining his table. He had to admit, this guy was pretty good looking. Yoochun was clothed in a dark grey suit which Junsu immediately recognized as one of Hugo Boss’s newest line. It should have a value of around 800 dollars. The eyes of the man darted to Yoochun’s shoes which were shiny black; worth probably around 300 dollars. He was wearing a big Rolex, estimated value 400 dollars. Junsu nodded approvingly; it was obvious that Yoochun’s wealth was no joke.
Yoochun was smiling, it was a big and innocent smile with a lot of white teeth. He stretched out his arm, giving Junsu a firm handshake.
“Park Yoochun,” Yoochun introduced himself. After placing himself on the chair, he continued, “Look, I know why you’re here. I know it’s my own fault and you’re probably not going to have a good impression of me… but you seemed like a pretty cool guy on the picture I saw. Here’s the deal. I’m not gay.”
“You-you’re not?” Junsu asked, his eyes wide. Well, this wasn’t exactly the way he had expected this conversation to turn out. “Then… why did you want to meet up with me?”
“You see… my parents are constantly trying to find me a girl so I can get married. My mother only seems to pick out the annoying girls and after what seemed like my hundredth blind date, it became really boring. All I want to do is enjoying my life as a bachelor because, let’s face it, with this face, I’ll get a girl anyway. Be it now or in five years.”
“So… you pretended to be gay to stop your mother?” Junsu said hesitantly. Suddenly, he felt used; though he had came here with the intention of using Yoochun.
“Bingo! I have to admit, it was a pretty smart move.” Yoochun flashed a smile, a look of satisfaction on his face. “Well, my mother actually didn’t believe I was gay - of course not, how can I possibly be gay? - and continued trying to set me up with girls. I saw your picture in the newspapers and I knew my father knew your father… so I know it might be a little bit overwhelming… but do you want to act along with me?
I know gay marriage isn’t something great, especially not if you have such a big company like your dad. However, Junho will probably end up inheriting a big part of the company… and I’ll pay you royally, yes, I’ll pay you to marry me. Normally, women would pay me to marry them because let’s be honest, I’m prince Charming. Of course, I don’t plan to be married with you forever. Just, until I find a good woman and then I’ll divorce you. We’ll be divorced in less than six months, I guarantee you that.”
Even though Junsu didn’t like Yoochun’s smug tone at all, he realized he had no other choice than to accept his offer. If he wouldn’t do this, he wouldn’t be able to inherit anything at all. Actually, it might be better now that he discovered Yoochun was using him as well. There wouldn’t be any problems with the divorce. He sighed, “Good, when is the marriage?”

A/N: This was actually meant as a oneshot at first but once I started writing, more and more ideas started to form in my head... so I decided to make it a chaptered fic, though I think it won't be more than four chapters. Actually, this was meant as a parody on the typical elements in K-dramas so I'm wondering if you could recognize some of the dramas!
