I am annoyed!

I don't know about any of y'all out there, but one of my new treats this season is HBO's "True Blood." I'm not into vampires. I have never been into them, even though I've read 3 out of the 4 Twilight books (while enjoyable, I'm not fully obsessed.) Yet, this show has made me addicted. I am now so addicted that I began reading Charlaine Harris's ( Read more... )

I read the first Sookie book as soon as I heard about True Blood...before it even aired. I loved Dead until Dark so much that I ordered the next seven books from amazon.com. It took me less than two weeks to read them. I was as hooked as you are.

I love True Blood, but it has strayed from some of the major plot lines and characters in the books.

Oh, I completely agree with you about Alexander Skarsgard. He's gorgeous and a very talented actor. I love him on True Blood. I only got to see the first episode of Generation Kill when it aired last summer, but HBO is re-airing it on HBO 2 starting November 25th. I've also pre-ordered the DVDs, which will be available in late December.

Have you seen his Swedish films Hundtricket and Om Sara? He's hot, hot, hot in those movies. (See icon) They are two of his best Swedish films, IMO.

Hi!

Well, here's an update: I now have books 4, 6, and 7. I went to Borders and they didn't have book 5. So, now, I'm trying to slowly read book 4 until I can get my hands on book 5. Ha. I'm sure you were very interested to know that, lol. :)

You're very right about how True Blood has deviated from the first book's plot line. I can't help but wonder if Allen Ball will address the Eric/Sookie attraction or if he will stay on board the Bill/Sookie train? What do you think? Which couple do you prefer?

I totally went investigating about Generation Kill and saw that about HBO 2 on November 25th. I. Will. Be. Watching. He's just such a sexy beast.

I'll have to look into the films you mentioned. Love your icons! :)

I'll have to look into the films you mentioned.

They're both Swedish films, so you would have to be able to watch region 2 DVDs.

I'm trying to slowly read book 4 until I can get my hands on book 5.

The Walmart store near me has them all. Are you near a Walmart? Or a Barnes & Noble? If all else fails, there's amazon.com. That's where I buy all my books since there aren't any bookstores here in the boonies. Our Walmart doesn't have a really huge selection.

Thanks about the icons. I've made a few more GK icons since it will be airing soon.

He's just such a sexy beast.

Yes..he..is !!

There are times I wish I lived in America - you have the Charlaine Harris books as a tv program?! Uh, it's sickening, FNL and the new series of Grey's Anatomny isn't even showing over here yet - not that FNL will.

The Southern Vampire books are good aren't they? And trust me they only get better! To be honest though, I didn't get into the other series that she started, I think the first book is 'Grave Surprise' but I only read the first and it didn't make me want to read the next in the series and I know there are a few out now.

Hi Lilly!

Consider this your lucky day: http://www.surfthechannel.com/index.php

That website has a TON of shows that are streamed. It has both True Blood (the Charlaine Harris series), Grey's, and FNL. My parents get DirectTv but I have cable, so I don't get to watch Season 3 the "traditional" way, but thanks to this site, I watch it every week!

And you are right, the Southern Vampire series is amazing! I'm on book 4 right now and I have to say that I'm pretty excited because I love Eric Northman.

I'm curious: which of Sookie's suitors do you enjoy best?

OMG! That website is amazing! Thank you!

Which of Sookie's suitors do I enjoy the best?

That's a tricky one. To start off with I did like Bill, but then when he disappeared and became a total jerk I really went off of him, and during that time Eric started to come into his own didn't he? She get's a few more suitors in the later books, but still I don't particularly like any of them and then in Dead to the World, how can you not fall in love with Eric?!

Having heard your excitment out over the books, I'm going to dig mind out again and have another read!
