Bush was a huge disappointment for Republicans who set him up on a pedestal when they initially elected him and I strongly suspect the same thing is going to happen with Obama and Democrats. I think that there are quite a few people are going to be sorely disappointed when they find out that he's not going to end up bringing us into some new era of unbounded prosperity. At best, he might end up helping things some. At worst, he could screw things up even more, which is what I'm afraid will happen.

Honestly, I couldn't bring myself to vote for either McCain or Obama (I really don't think either of them had good ideas for what to do with the country), so I could well be extra-pessimistic here, but . . . yeah. It's really kind of disturbing seeing people treat him like the second coming of Christ. He's got one hell of a marketing team.

Yeah. I don't think it will be that bad. I think it will be bad enough for people to realise that he isn't everything they think he is. Just remember, we survived Bush, we can survive Obama. I have hope. Heh. Get it? I said "hope"
