its really interesting (and horrifying) to read about all the racism in france. do you think that because it is a smaller country that racism there is more obvious than in the us/canada or do you think it really is worse there?

i think the racism is less here, i mean, it's not really bad unless ur from north africa: morocco (sp), algeria, tunisia...but it's still pretty bad against blacks, asians...but um...from my perspective being taken for an "antillaise" (french carribbean) it's worse in the states.

if i feel like i am being discriminated against by a french person (slim to never) i laugh it off because in all honesty, i cant take anything from a frenchman personnally (sp), because they hate themselves and eachother more than anyone else but hide behind arrogrance.

out of all the times i've heard the question being posed, i've never once heard a french person say they're proud to be french. dont blame them, the country kinda sucks right now. waiting for the next revolution i suppose.

Perhaps the racism in France is more overt and in Canada is more institutionalized and behind closed doors so to speak. I don't know, never been to France, but your description of the sky and the sea made my heart ache, sounds lovely. Of course with every yin there is a yang...
