It's shocking, how fucked-upedly obvious some peoples's prejudices can be. I veryvery vaguely recall lolling on a rug whilst McEnroe cast his racquet to the turf and cursed. Rebels contain wisdom.
Despite its smiles and gorgeous boomerangs, fuck the fifties and its nonsensibility.
My fellow and I were discussing it tonight, in a fleeting second. I wondered about the segregated drinking fountains. It didn't make sense to me and again, I felt like something smaller than a child, almost embryonic, lolling on a rug. Sigh.
Whoa! Lets not jump the gun here. I know white people are the only people capable of being racist but maybe people don't like Serena Williams because she's disrepectful and arrogant and nothing else. They don't boo you at Roland Garros for only being black.
gee i wonder who this is, considering the vast majority of ANGLOPHONES and north americans (except me because i was under the influence for a year) refer to it as the FRENCH OPEN and not ROLAND GARROS like a *ahem* frenchman or something.
i already admitted that i was "jumping the gun" (english idioms 101?)by pulling a Lleyton Hewitt and don't fucking put words in my mouth saying that i'm implying only whites are capable of being racist.
furthermore, ppl at the French Open didnt boo Serena because she was arrogant and disrespectful, they boo'd her because she was playing Henin-Hardenne and they wanted to show support for their fellow francophone, that's common knowledge, guy. plus, last night EVERYONE was commenting on the grace and composure with which serena carried herself last night, despite the setback...she's grown up, buddy so keep up or shut up.
That's interesting. I have read different things. It has been said she was boo'ed, perhaps unfairly, because the crowd was mostly Belgian or perhaps it was because of the war in Iraq or the dimunitive Henin-Hardenne was the underdog, but it is my opinion that she played an appalling loose service game. Regardless, she failed to show the appropriate demeanor after the game which McEnroe had taken her to task in the English press a year earlier. I'm not convinced she has grown up as she seems more interested in becoming a brand than a tennis player. Maybe she should play more tournaments instead playing victim all the time. You really shouldn't take the umpire to task because she was white from old school Portugal, i'm sure the king's ancestors wouldn't be happy.
