There are many ways to how that you care about the world. I believe that even if I can't change the whole world in a day or even a lifetime I can still do the best I can from my perspective. So I recycle and I will teach my kids to be respectful to their peers. It's not much but it's better than nothing.

It bothers me when people talk about Africa or predominantly black places like Jamaica and say they "need to get their act together." I always wonder if white people truly understand what colonialism did to the world. You can't keep going to africa to rape the women and the land and leave people without any infrastructure and then complain when they are left poor and economically crippled. Bah.

for real, yeah it troubles me that people go around saying things like that, thinking they are so informed and concerned with the problems in africa, yet fail to realise (my keyboard is busted, hence all the typos) that their ignorance makes them part of the problem, like the guy who said that to me. yay eurocentrism.
