I think that is actually what she meant. She was actually trying to be reassuring rather than mean, but instead it just confirmed my own thoughts on my relationship issues. Still, at least I don't smell awful or something like that.
But, thank you, I'm glad to know someone other than my mother thinks I'm "smart and interesting."
