I got stuck waiting almost a full hour for my midwife appointment today. I wouldn't mind if it was just me and I could sit and quietly read a book (actually that sounds pretty close to heavenly) but it is difficult to keep Mila busy in those little rooms for that long. The last time this happened I wrote a snotty note and left and then I felt bad

That does suck. I think I'd switch practices, too. It is a little late in the game but barring any huge risks I think you'll be fine. And yes, I hear the environment is totally different between a birthing center and hospital (even if it's a birthing suite). The nurses will be better trained to handle your emotions and whatnot, so your support system will be better. Do you have a doula?

Well I called and the birthing center isn't accepting new patients for March. So that's kind of a bummer, but at the same time I guess that's one decision I don't have to go back and forth on anymore - decision made for me :)

The hospital offers a free doula service that I'm signed up for, but no one has contacted me yet about it. I'll have to get on that now and make sure everything is in order.
