The nature of online communication constantly changes. Earliest theories of the power of the internet in facilitating a social network tended to see the internet as an extension of existing telecommunications networks, and of television. Television as a model for internet communication has some relevance today - particularly in the domain of heavily trafficked web pages - but for the most part, the internet has outstripped the communicative potential of television for the simple reason of its interactivity. Analogies can no longer be made between the internet and televisual communication, or the internet and telephone communication. This has prompted an analysis of the internet that is somehow analogous to the world around us. In some way, conceptualising the online world in spatial terms is simple, and even when the functional technology powering the internet was still basic, the term “cyberspace” was relevant in public imagination. Mr Moody, Tonks, and Professor Lupin had gone to fetch Harry from Privet Drive and escort him to the service; Moody and Tonks still flanked him, sitting on either side, but Professor Lupin -- she couldn't seem to stop thinking of him as "Professor Lupin" even though he wasn't a teacher anymore -- was sitting up in the front row with the others who would be giving eulogies. Hermione had briefly considered asking Tonks and Moody if they would let her and Ron sit beside Harry, but as soon as she had seen him, she had known Harry was in one of his moods, the sullen set of his mouth speaking volumes, and she had decided against it, thinking their presence would be neither welcome nor a comfort.
