YOU DID WHAT?! (Closed: Harry)

Ginny hadn't checked in or spoken to Ron in a while. She knew a little of what had been happening thanks to the Prophet but she wanted to see him in person. She was a good sister after all, even if on occasion it seemed like she forgot about her brothers ( Read more... )

Harry had been hoping that he'd be able to spend a quiet, bother-less kind of day in the flat. He didn't think he was suitable for human interaction, really, having had a wallop of a lecture from Kingsley and a more than embarrassing walk through the office garnering more than his fair share of attention. He had known it was coming, knowing the protocol for these sorts of things.

It didn't matter what case was solved, there were rules.

Either he had to get used to them or he had to re-think his career options.

So, with two months cleared for him, Harry returned home and promptly fell asleep flat on his face in his bedroom. The knocking had interrupted the fitful dream he was in the middle of.

His tee shirt was wrinkled, his gym shorts were wrinkled, his hair might have been, if that was what hair did.

He wouldn't have cared if it was a delivery man but his eyes nearly popped from his skull when he saw Ginny.

"What are you doing here?" he asked, the words spitting out of him. "Erm- sorry, hey Gin-"

Ginny laughed at Harry's look of shock. He had obviously not been expecting her to be on the other side of the door. "Nice to see you too," she said with a chuckle.

"I'm looking for Ron actually." She gave a little shrug as she added, "Checking in on him like a good sister and all that."

He stared at her for a moment, briefly wondering if there was someone playing a practical joke on him. Two months suspension, sensitivity training, random drop-ins by ex-girlfriends. He raked a hand through his hair, smoothing out his hopelessly wrinkled tee shirt as he ushered her inside.

He couldn't have anyone seeing her hover outside his door. Not when everyone and their mothers were up his ass about the gossip column.

"He's um, he's not here-" Harry said, offering her a crooked smile. "He's at work-"

Which is precisely where he should have been.

Ginny entered the flat, giving it a quick once over as she did. It was the same as when she was last here and her fingers itched to cast a few simple cleaning charms to tidy it up. Molly Weasley had instilled that little quirk into her daughter for sure.

"Oh. Right!" She hit her hand against her forehead in a joking gesture. "I forget sometimes that people keep normal work hours since mine are so weird."

Ginny turned to face Harry then with a slight frown. "Though if Ron's at work, why aren't you there as well?"
