Safely in Cape Breton for the long weekend. Long trip, but I am here. Looks like it's going to be a great weekend. :-)

Just got home from a weekend home in Cape Breton. Left Friday afternoon at 1 p.m., after picking up some tropical fish for Mom. The drive up took me six hours, due to three road construction areas, and three sets of the driving dead... Got to the house in time for dinner. Since the weather this weekend was perfect (i.e. sunny and hot), it was spent doing absolutely nothing. My brother came up for the weekend, and we managed to get through the whole two days without yelling at each other. That is a feat in itself ( Read more... )

Looks like my contract will be extended again for another month. I talked to my supervisor this afternoon and she told me that I should expect to possibly work for the month of September as well. She's going on vacation next week, so will not have the job posted till after she gets back on August 8. So, if the job gets posted that week ( Read more... )

Spent Friday night and most of yesterday volunteering at the Jazz festival. Friday night, I was working with the Volunteer Services tent, where I handed out the volunteer kits.
