I can't believe it!  I woke up around 5:30am to go to the bathroom and decided to just take a peek to see if the clue was up.  I waited for the page to refresh a few times and then I was in!  It took me a few minutes to find the answer, but I did and then found the quill!  I got the validation email about 1/2 hour later, and now, once the quill
