Thoughts on TVD 2.04 - Memory Lane

Well, if there's one thing I can say about The Vampire Diaries, it's that it never fails to disappoint me.  Every week I find myself falling just a little bit more in love with this show.  I'll give you fair warning, I had a lot of thoughts about this episode, so this post will be long.  I'll just take it scene by scene.

On the other hand... poor, poor Damon. The scene where Katherine compelled him into leaving absolutely gutted me. What the hell is wrong with these girls?!! I mean, Stefan's nice and all, but... Watching Kat once again play Kick the Damon gave me an instant flashback to human Spike from BtVS. I've always seen similarities between the two characters, but it struck me in this episode how truly alike they are. Both are extremely loyal to those they love, both are emotional to a fault, both are ruled by passion and love, and both changed their personas post-vamp in response to the rejections/losses of the women they loved. THIS. OMFG YES.

not gonna lie, i've hit pause on me laptop far too many times, and it hates me :L

tou have some marvelous ideas here, that i will totally go into more depth with tomorrow, but right now i'm dead tired (no pun... i swear...) :L

Are you, like, my secret brain twin or something? *spy*
We totally pointed out a lot of the same things and I always write my reviews before I read anyone else's, so this is fun to see :)

Somerhalder School for Snark and Sassiness
LOL. Where and when can I enroll?!

I also love you for the term BrOT3, hadn't heard that one before!

My thoughts pretty much echo yours, except with regard to Mason. I don't blame Damon one bit for attacking Mason. Having a Lockwood werewolf and Katherine back in town at the same time is too coincidental. I don't really trust Mason as far as I can throw him. George reminded me of Mason, actually. Plus Mason tried to kill Stefan and we all know that Damon's going to protect his little bro. Now that we know a wolf bite is fatal to a vampire, the Salvatores were going to have to do something about Mason. Mason can't control himself when he transforms. And wolves hunt vampires. Therefore Mason must die, in Damon's eyes.
