i know how you feel with grad school, i'm in the exact same (if not worse) boat than you are, but the truth is that you'll never know unless you apply. if you apply, you at least have some chance, if you don't, you know you don't have a chance. expecting things to come out horribly in a relationship isn't exactly the smartest thing. thinking that you're going to spend your life with every guy you date isn't smart either of course. you need to think realistically. if you have a problem with what you said, then tell him about it. say something like "hey, can we talk about what i said when i was drunk and eating jimmy johns with you?" then you express your feelings and thoughts and get his feelings and thoughts. failure to bring up issues can result in a failed and/or miserable relationship, seriously
