Kalinda is a real romantic, she will die loving and not telling anyone about it :-( And Alicia has a heart of stone, or so it seems. Someone wake that woman up, she is missing out on the real Kalinda entirely out of stubbornness and denial! K is not the only one prevented from living…

Has there been an undefeatable, unreasonable, undeserved love like Kalinda's on television? Ever? Maybe Batman's love for Gotham. Or Mork's love for those rainbow suspenders. But other than that, nada. Thank you for capturing it in its many facets.

All of this is beautiful, but I especially love that the one person who hasn't tried to get past Kalinda's walls is the only one who's succeeded in doing just that. Kind of a tragic irony right there.

Oh, sorry! Narcissist moment. :) Was referring to the "friendship out of guilt" thing -- specifically:

“I’m still figuring it out. I’d like to... But friendship out of guilt doesn’t sit well.”

Mate, I think we're both just quoting Alicia in the second confrontation of "Getting Off". She uses the word "guilt" twice and Kalinda says "That's not why..." before getting cut off. OTOH, maybe I'm quoting you quoting canon. I DON'T KNOW!

Great play on words here, and I really like the journey through the different types of love. I think you've encapsulated Kalinda -- and her push/pull with Alicia -- perfectly.
