It's Robyn who speaks up, and she doesn't really know why she called Alicia Mrs. Florrick, because she never calls her that, but it's a dark day, and no one says anything exactly right when it's a dark day.
Cary turns to look at her, because it was two days ago he'd told everyone his former boss and friend was dead, and someone said something first thing this morning about how they should send flowers to the funeral today, and that's when Robyn spoke.
"How...when did you talk to Alicia?" Cary asks. He hasn't even talked to Alicia ( ... )

Anyway it was lovely and sweet and so very sad, a perfect answer to the prompt - lots of catharsis about Will’s death -- thank you!

I'd be interested to know what you thought of when you read the prompt! That's my favorite part about this, considering all the different interpretations we might have :)
Thanks again for leaving a note! I really appreciate it!

Well, I thought the prompt was a great one because of the obvious parallel between Mrs Dalloway’s life and Alicia’s: a middle-aged lady, torn between a politician husband she doesn’t love and an old flame she refused to marry but could never forget. She also keeps thinking about a beautiful, provocative girl, who was her true love but could never be an option… (Kalicia shipper here ^^)
All this is pretty much canon anyway, so we might have found the real inspiration behind the whole show ^^ Anyone interested in writing this Mrs D-style though, please do so!

However, I think an Alicia-based Mrs Dalloway fanfic would be tremendous. I don't think I inhabit her headspace enough to write it, but perhaps someone else will someday. I think Alicia's stream-of-consciousness would be particularly well-suited for a character who lives so deeply in her head.
