They're going to be lawyers, one day. They're going to be corporate giants, with six figure salaries and a driver. They're going to be rich.
"We're going to be rich one day", Will says, as they borrow tools from the neighbours, and toy aimlessly with the defunct machine. It's a pointless exercise, but its a welcome break from attempts at study, and Alicia thinks there's something to fixing things together that's akin to matrimony. For a little while, they're quite content with letting their books gather dust, while Alicia climbs up on the little chair with him - arms around his torso, brow furrowed.
We're going to be rich one day, Will grumbles, a few hours later. It's midday, and sweltering, and no relief comes from opening the window. No breeze arrives, and Alicia can see the waves of heat beating on the road outside, as she peels herself off the leather couch. She had picked up her book again, briefly, but it lands haphazard on the table now. Too ( ... )
