A/N: Oh, man, how do I keep hitting prompts that have already been filled? I'm sorry, I didn't realize! Anyway, this one is set in season five after Will's death. To be honest I haven't watched season 5 in awhile so I can't remember if there's anything in canon that contradicts this as a things-that-happened-offscreen sort of thing. If there is, consider this AU.

Strangers

Two weeks after Will's death, Alicia showed up at Kalinda's doorstep for the first time in two years. Shocked, Kalinda only had time to open her mouth when Alicia cut her off with a sharp gesture. “I need you to take me to the bedroom,” she said, “and I need you to fuck me. And don't talk.Kalinda studied Alicia's face - blank, closed-down - for half a second. Then she opened the door wordlessly, and Alicia shoved past her toward the bedroom. Kalinda followed, every nerve in her body jangling. Reading Alicia's body language, Kalinda fucked her hard and a little rough. Alicia kept her eyes closed for most of it. As soon as she came, she jerked ( ... )

The only times that ever broke through the wall for Kalinda now were the times when Alicia would dig through Kalinda's dildos to find the most realistic one, mid-sized and veined and designed with a head, and hand it over in silent demand. Those times, Alicia wouldn't open her eyes at all. Kalinda had figured what was happening even before she saw Alicia's lips move one night in a silent O-shape: Will. After that Kalinda left off the perfume and kept a tight tank top on hand to keep her breasts out of the way, but even so, she wondered - was she really the best replacement for Will that Alicia could find? Surely there had to be, well, a guy out there who'd do the same thing for her that Kalinda was doing now ( ... )

I love multiple fic fills! If a prompt inspires several different takes I find it even more interesting to read.

Anyway... I thought mine was angsty. But yours, ouch, reading it at 7am might not have been the best idea. That said, it was very realistically depressing. WAH!

Excellent fic.

Man, both of you did an excellent job with this prompt. I love Kalinda's relationship to the word "stranger" in both stories. I knew to expect quality of you, schwarmerei1, and you did not disappoint; lemonsoranges, you're fast becoming one of my favorite writers in the fandom!

You know, somehow I didn't realize quite *how* angsty it was until I got some comments and actually reread it. But I'm glad you liked it even if it is super depressing! I feel like I should write some fluff as a palate-cleanser or something...

Oh it's wonderfully strong -- the angst is great. I doubt anyone who ships anything on this show hates angst. I mean, you'd go insane right?

That said, I'll happily accept some fluff! Pretty please!

I love it too when the same prompt inspires several stories!

Poor Kalinda, that’s dark and there’s not a lot of hope for her in there, your Alicia is so very close to canon (a selfish cold-hearted bitch who doesn’t care about anyone who loves her until it’s too late), but I do like the kind of poetic justice that brings Alicia back to Kalinda after losing Will, like she went straight to Will after losing Kalinda in the first place...
