Alicia refuses to believe that she’s a gay icon, just doesn’t think it’s true, and it’s endearing and funny and awful at the same time - a woman this beautiful, this bruised. So Kalinda asks her out for drinks one night (they’re doing that again, and it’s different now, yes, but the core of them remains) and takes her to a place they’ve never been before

This made my night, seriously. One of my favorite things you've ever written. It's hilarious (and yes, yes, all I want in all the world now is for Kalinda to take Alicia to a lesbian den of inequity, make it so, Kings), but also sweetly poignant.
Things I love:
(She talks to her again, now. Long, personal stories, real feelings, real life. Kalinda wants to warn her, protect her, to stop her from being so trusting. I’ll hurt you again, she thinks. She doesn’t ever say it because she knows it isn’t true.)
KALINDA, YOUR EPIC LOVE, I CAN'T.
“I’m a lot happier with you.” That could mean anything, but it’s said honestly, seriously. It could still mean anything, but Kalinda can only cope with the obvious.
“Then I won’t leave again.”
Swooning. Swooning forever.
In conclusion: YES, YES TO EVERYTHING. Write all the things. ♥

Aw, shucks! Glad you liked. One of my fave things about this ship is that I can actually see a lot of the fandom-created PG stuff actually happening on the show, and Kalinda taking Alicia to a gay bar and then watching in amusement as she nervously fends off the lesbians is TOTALLY one of them.

I nearly died laughing at the idea of Kalinda taking Alicia to a gay bar den of lesbian iniquity. Bwahahaha. That would be the best thing EVER. And I LOVE the she's-my-girlfriend undertone in how Kalinda gets rid of Alicia's persuers. Amaaaaazing.
(they’re doing that again, and it’s different now, yes, but the core of them remains) Aww. This is just lovely.
“Yeah.” Kalinda’s grinning broadly now. She knew it would be like this. Ha, LOL forever at how Kalinda just waited for Alicia to figure it out on her own. I can just imagine the "wait a minute....ohhhhhh crap" look on A's face. :P

You know, I didn't consciously write the she's-my-girlfriend-so-back-off thing, and then I read it back and thought "Woah, I see what you're doing there, Miss Sharma. Someone's a little territorial."

do you know why I love this story? because we don't see Alicia get hit on enough, she's a beautiful, intelligent woman, you'd think everyone with eyes, male, female, everyone, would be hitting on her. It's so nice to see her uncomfortable with it. haha
That's so true! I do think it's a bit odd that Kalinda's treated like a goddess and no-one seems to notice that Alicia's even mildly attractive. I guess she's meant to be a bit plainer than JM, but still - give her some love, show!
This was the greatest thing ever! Alicia..being all uncomfortable and adorable in a lesbian bar. I love it!
I really like this part: Kalinda walks over to the stranger and just says, ”No”. The woman cowers a little from Kalinda’s attitude, and says, “Sorry, I didn’t realize. My mistake.” The stranger leaves.
Because Kalinda is just so Bamf that she just has to say one syllable and everyone just does what she says.

Alicia is totes adorable *nods*. Canon drunk Alicia, in a lesbian bar, being all oblivious and then awkward, would be something I could watch for several days. Possibly more.
I did think about Kalinda just scaring off the suitors with a look rather than one word. Bet she could do it too.

I so need them to make this a scene!
Figures Kalinda can just say "no" and even Armani suits will cower away! XP
And yes, good stuff starting with some gentle sweetness and then just sliding into wonderful hilarity! Spot on dialogue!
Oh the love I have for this fic! Thanks for sharing!

Love, love, love this one! I love Kalinda teasing Alicia, but also when things get warmer for Kalinda, she's the one holding her breath.
Thank you!
