Alicia/Kalinda - Fencing is (not) foreplay

(And, yes, I may be trolling a little blatantly for someone else to write fantasy AU fic, but modern day verbal fencing is good too.)

OK, I am sure that this is entirely not what you were anticipating, but I still recall your response to 'role play' from last year. So I guess fair is fair. I hope you like ( ... )

Oh, fencing is SO foreplay! I really enjoyed this, the falling back into easy friendship, the new traditions, Alicia finally moving on with her life, Kalinda’s Freudian slip - and the ending comes way to soon! ^^

Great job! I love the new traditions! JM didn't become a writer for a reason: she thinks there is nothing to explore in AK friendship and thinks Kalinda can be replaced by any female guest star!

Oh! Cool! Thanks for filling this prompt!

(I hope it won't disappoint you too much if I say that this interpretation didn't exactly come out of left field for me.)

I liked the flow, the rebuilding of their relationship over time, the moving on. Casual Kalinda as a whole, really. Even up to actually talking about her feelings, even if only by accident!

Louisa, who has done a little bit of fencing in the past, notes that she liked that bit about ballet and footwork regarding fencing, and that it adds verisimilitude.

Thanks again!

Actually I was more worried about you being disappointed-- you do swashbuckling so well that I assumed you might have something more pirate-like in mind. Sadly, such things are rather beyond me, at least for now (although perhaps I will take that as a goal for next year's ficathon!).

I don't know anything about fencing, so the details were a shot in the dark. Fencing does seem graceful, tho, and I'm 100% sure that Alicia studied ballet. I'm glad it worked for Louisa.

Glad you liked, and thanks for the prompt.

Oh wow, I love this... the reconnecting, the physicality, the parallels and analogies to the other parts of their lives. Definitely, DEFINITELY foreplay, and you have awakened in me the desire for, in the grand tradition of Kalinda giving Diane firearms lessons, Kalinda giving Alicia self-defense lessons.

...Yeah. That should happen.

Wonderful work1!
