I'm starting to, a fair bit, really.
I wish they had more...discussion circles.
I've been to the open house, but I don't know.
Maybe I'm looking for more of a book group?

I took a class in may called "the truth of suffering" A lot of discussion there. It was let by someone who studied with Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche.

I occasionally go to the open house on wednesday nights. Sometimes you'll find discussion there too.

I read Sacred Path of the Warrior in high school and it had a huge effect on my life. I definitely have a lot of respect for the guy.

But at the same time... he was so BAD. I've only quite recently really learned about Chogyam Trungpa as a person, and it's really hard to reconcile the huge difference between his message and him personally.

For my money, The Dalai Lama is where it's at.

It's so strange to me that you didn't know about Trungpa's darker side until recently. I recall learning about his notorious womanizing and alcoholism around the same time as when I learned he existed and was an important spiritual leader. I suppose if I'd run across the book first instead of having buddhists tell me about him, it might have been more like your experience.
