I thought you said that you didn't have any voice training! Remember? We were finishing up Andre's costume the day before Kumoricon and you sang beautifully and I asked about your training and you said that you were self-taught (I thought) and then I flipped my lid because it just wasn't FAIR.... :-D
Or did I misunderstand you?

Well, it's kind of odd. I went to one preview lesson with this lady who was an opera singer. She had me vocalize (sing up and down the scales) and had me sing a song I knew to see what level I was at. Then she gave me some tips and things to work on which were operatic in nature and I never had another lesson with her again. I did see her a few times afterwards, though, and she'd keep giving me little tips and nudges but I never formally took any lessons.

I am self-taught for the most part but I've taken the base that I got from that lady and used it to form my own training. I listen to opera singers and try to imitate them as closely as I can. If you have a good ear for that this is actually a very good way to train yourself.

I can't even begin to touch that. My only claim to fame is I'm a single mom and do all sorts of crafty artsy things to impress my five year old, who needs constant mental stimulation to keep him entertained and lengthen his attention span. That, and I am rather inventive when it comes to making fancy desserts on a budget. I am a silversmith, but I haven't been able to do work in that field for more than a hobby in a decade, so I rarely count it, ditto with my oils watercolours and cel art.

My hand sewn costuming(All the costumes my little guy wears)can't touch yours with a 100 metre pole.
