Haha! Look at the knitting! Brill!
Did you re-remember how to cast on? It's just like the normal knitting but instead of taking the previous stitch off the left hand needle, you put the new one onto it.
Did the book help?

I was overambitious and did a long 50 loop doo-dah (after I worked out how to cast on again). It was all going pretty well (about 6 rows) until I dropped a stitch, and couldn't work out how to fix it. So I pulled it all apart in a huff. But it's addictive, isn't it?

I like the book, but it isn't nearly as good a teacher as you are!

Oh flatery will get you everywhere etc...!

I think then that fixing dropped stitches can be in next knitting lesson, as well as increasing and decreasing stitches.

That's where I always go wrong in knitting. I have no idea how to start it. That and my inability to end up with the same amount of stiches that I started with!

I have a hard enough time just recognising what is a stitch!

Coooool! I've got a knitting machine, which is handy but very heavy and noisy. Looks good though, you could make that into a cute bracelet or something.
I can never remember how to cast on no matter how many times people show me :(
Hey your email keeps sending me my emails back saying it's delayed/failed.

Yeah, I was thinking a bookmark, but who really uses bookmarks? It's slow going, believe you me.

That's very bad news about my email!!! Can you email me at work? It's tammy dot denitto@ walsingham dot com.

Knitting machine fact -
The knitting machine was invented by a man (who might have been a Reverend, actually, I can't remember) whose ladyfriend hand knitted those stockings that men used to wear, and which took so long that he never saw her. He got bored of never seeing her, so invented a machine that would knit the stockings quicker.

I am trying to remember when it was. 17th century, I think.
