I'm bored of going to music shows - what about comedy?

In my household, we've just discovered how funny Matthew Holness and Richard Ayoade are by watching the whole series of Garth Marenghi's Darkplace and Man to Man with Dean Learner. It seems like everyone else has known how funny they are for ages. I'm so behind the times ( Read more... )

What do you think of Sarah Silverman? I know Americans think she's hilarious but I just don't get it. Is it a cultural thing how I miss her humour or is she just not funny?

I really like her face and her voice, and she was really good on Larry Sanders.

I don't know much about her stand up, but I've heard she's very dirty. Perhaps unnecessarily so.

I must see it, so I'll be able to make an informed decision. I hope I don't get embarrassed when watching it.

That was Robert Webb doing the McDonalds voice over, I'm sure... I actually think David Mitchell is the cuter one, but I seem to have a thing for the slightly larger comedian. And I have a pc.

My favourite Dan Learner bits were Merriman Weir's surprisingly good guitar playing, and the surprisingly good American accent of Glyn Nimron. And the way his head caught fire. I was disturbed by the milky chin, though.

I haven't heard Down the Line - thank you for the recommendation!

There's no point. Americans are stupid. I won't get it.

I'm not sure... it seems a bit 'silly'. They're pals with my new buddies from Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, so maybe...

It's very silly but hugely enjoyable. Sometimes you just need some really downright daft humour.

I'm annoyed that I'm the last person to find out about it!
