My Father, the Genius...or not

So, my parents' printer dies a tragic death, and my father decides that he can't use mine because he needs the fax option, so he goes out and buys a shiny, new, $300 HP printer that does photos and faxing and copying and just about anything else you can think of. Then he sets up the whole thing, calibrates it and everything, and tries to install

What I don't get is why your dad's going to South Carolina in the first place??
