Hello Salary.

Jun 08, 2005 14:00

So I was thinking about leaving my job, until Kelly gave me some exciting news:

Karen might open another shop within the next two years, which would make her and I the managers, therefore:

I get a salary of at LEAST $40,000.

Hm. Social freedom or financial security?

Wow, thats a tough choice. Becoming a manager like that would be awesome. I wonder how serious she is about doing that.

Merf. I know. It would be awesome. Instead of assistant, Kelly and I would be head administrators with people working below us.

So far she's pretty serious, but I'm really not supposed to tell anyone that it will happen yet. Her husband is about to be promoted to president of Dave Brewer Homes, Inc. (a multi-millionaire, possibly billionaire builder's facility) This is heavy, high-end work that most designers dream of getting into. This means beaucoup bucks, and Karen would immediately jump on it, build a place in Cleremont, and head up shop over there, leaving the rest to us.

Yeah, ok, go for the manager position. You like what you do mostly, don't you? Sure, stress, yadda yadda yadda everyone's got stress.

My vote is go for it if it's real. You could definitely live off of 40 grand a year.

Oh, it's real alright, or so far anyway. It all depends on if Karen opens a shop in Cleremont. It would be great because her husband is about to be promoted to president of the builder's company we work one on one with. This means LOTS of money!!!! XD

I'm praying she does it.

Wow, that would be so awesome! My vote would go to financial security. You deserve it! And if the stress gets to you...just keep reminding yourself how wonderful it is to be able to afford a comfortable life of your own. Not being dependent is priceless.

Very true. ^_^

But how comfortable is the life of retail versus going to school to get the degree I originally wanted? I can't make up my mind. ;p
