→ Gender: Female
→ Age: Appearance wise, Wakaba seems to be highschool aged, around 18 or so. She typically wears a seifuku so this also helps to enhance the image. Her canon age is never specified, though she is said to be the oldest Shinigami with the Chuugoku section.
→ Personality:
If you're looking for a sunny disposition, Wakaba Kannuki may just be your shining example. The auburn-haired shinigami is rarely seen without a smile, particularly in the presence of her friends and those closest to her. And Wakaba seems to consider almost everyone her friend - from the stranger she just met five minutes earlier to the coworkers she has worked alongside for several hundred or so years. It's almost unthinkable for the woman to snub or otherwise ignore someone - she will give you the same bright smiles and the same helping attitude that she extends to everyone she comes in contact with. She is friendly and personable with everyone she meets. This often leads to a lot of arguments with her partner Hajime Terazuma, particularly when that friendly attitude is directed to another certain shinigami coworker named Tsuzuki.
Wakaba does have a sense of humor as well - she isn't much of a tease, save towards her partner Hajime, but she seems very witty and capable of making light-hearted jokes. She also has an excellent sense of when to joke and when not to.
A sympathetic creature by nature, she seems as adept at comforting another as she does at joking. She does her best to word things in a nice manner and to cheer others up when she can. And when she can defend someone, she will try her best to do so - even if it puts her at a disadvantage herself. This leads to Wakaba doing her best to make those around her happy and comfortable - one of the major reasons she loves to bake so much is so she can see others happy and enjoying the food that she prepares for them. If you ever need helping hands for a good deed, just look for Wakaba!
Perhaps the one major flaw with this little shinigami is her seeming naivety and ignorance to things concerning herself, particularly things of a romantic or flirtatious manner. Wakaba just doesn't seem to pick up on flirting, innuendos or other such things when they are directed at herself. It's a bit ironic that this female who, at times, displays almost fangirl like attitudes over pretty boys could be absolutely innocent over such. However, telling her overtly will garner her understanding and, typically, appropriate blushing action.

Little is known of Wakaba's former human life aside from her family background. Most shinigami retain their earthly appearance from when they died; after all, the dead can't age. It's safe to assume then that Wakaba was fairly young when she died, certainly not over 20 at the most, and is one of the oldest Shinigami with the Bureau. The chestnut-haired woman is descended from a long line of priestesses, possibly one of the reasons for her being brought in the bureau in the first place. She is a miko herself with considerable spirtual power. Her own powers when it comes to fighting are unknown as well--she is rarely seen without her partner Hajime Terazuma and acts more as backup for the man, as well as the only one who can bring him out of his transformed state.
Alongside being Terazuma's partner, Wakaba is known for being a Gatekeeper. Gatekeepers are special people who can open Gates into the land of Gensoukai, the digitial space in which shikigami reside when shinigami are not calling them for battle. There are four gates in total, each with a Gatekeeper--Wakaba is the Suzaku Gate's Gatekeeper. This status is also the reason for Wakaba's unique physical feature, heterochromia. All Gatekeepers are marked in this way--Wakaba's right eye is orange while her left eye is the original brown.
