Well, I can now say that I've been to a "hard" rock concert. Last night Cassi, David and I went down to seattle to see Anberlin.
It was super packed in a really, really small room and there were sweaty people all over the place. It was like 90 degrees in there! Or more. I'm not exaggerating.
The first band was alright, the second was bad, the third was good-- but then even more people squished down in there. We were smashed like sardines. I kept getting jammed up against the back wall. It was so uncomfortable! But, as soon as that band was done, Anberlin came on stage and some people cleared out so atleast I could have some room to breathe.((I wonder about the oxygen content of the air there, actually. There were also a bunch of people smoking.. YUCK)) We didn't stay for the last band, Saosin.. but that's alright.
Anyway, Anberlin's show was really good. It was fun, that part atleast.
I would have gotten some pictures if I had remembered to find some fresh batteries. It was super dark in there and all I had was my camera phone. Here's a picture of david before we were about to get squished. None of the other ones came out. I think I am going to invent a phone with a flash camera one of these days.
We left early so we could get a good spot at the concert, but we got soo lost it wasn't even funny. I took the wrong exit off the freeway, and followed the directions for Mapquest but not the ones given by the actual place. I took the Seneca street exit. But, I missed the turn afterwards and it went downhill from there. David tried to navigate, and boy was it bad. We went in several circles for a while. I think I was getting frustrated with all those one way streets and pedestrians. Too many people who do not need to be walking the blocks in downtown seattle. I got honked at like three times after trying to change lanes, but people wouldn't let me over. Geez. Cassi was holding on tight to the back seat of the van and David was gripping the part of the door that has the little handle.
I had my fair share of: "Left." .. "Go Left?" .. "Right." .. "Right?!?" .. "NO!! LEFT!"
We eventually got back on the freeway and followed the other directions to the exit off Olive Way.
Then we had to drop david off in Renton after the concert. I missed the exit off the freeway. Great. Then it took us a while to backtrack. By that time, my driving style was adjusted to and now all I hear is: "Change lanes. Go left. CORRECT. Get in the other lane...." Afterwards, we couldn't figure out how to get home. We had to call my mom after we ended up in Kent because someone called me and I missed the exit off of I-405. I don't know how I ended up in SeaTac and then Kent right next to Boeing. Don't even ask.
Here's a picture of Cassi sporting her new Anberlin shirt that she had to have. We got one for Juliet, too since she couldn't come to the concert herself. She would have been in pain afterwards.
Alrighty. I finished that Huichole yarn painting thing. I took a picture, but that one didn't come out any better. I am going to try it again, but I have to be going! ;p
