Author's Notes/Warnings: I didn't mean for it to happen like this. Mia's having such a little pity party in my head :/ Maybe after this she went to Rose and was all like "lets do it!" I don't know.
“What are you doing here?”
Mia turned around and looked at Rose who walked out onto the ledge of the Titans Tower. She shrugged her shoulders half heatedly. “I am just… wondering around.” Mia said. Really she just didn’t want to go back to Star City, but she didn’t want to be that far away from it either. San Francisco seemed like a nice place and she hadn’t visited the Titans Tower for a while. Seemed like a good a time as any. She knew she didn’t deserve to be here though. She had failed everyone, especially Roy and Lian. But really she didn’t know where else to go at the moment.
Rose nodded her head slightly and moved to sit down on the corner of the ledge a few feet away from her. “Sucks, everything that’s happened to your whole little family.” Mia stayed silent and Rose lit a cigarette pausing for a moment. “You know Roy’s on drugs again. I guess with Lian gone there is no reason for him to-”
“Shut up.” Mia shot glaring at Rose who raised her eyebrows. “I get it ok! It’s my fault everything that is going on! It’s my fault Lian died! It’s my fault Roy is… doing what he’s doing. It’s my fault! I know that you don’t have to shove it in my face!”
“I wasn’t shoving anything in your face.” Rose said in a flat voice, as if Mia was stupid to even think such a thing. “I was just saying… It’s not you’re fault Lian’s dead. What Roy is doing definitely isn’t your fault either. Self-centered…”
Mia glared at Rose and shook her head. “It is my fault. I shouldn’t have left Lian. I should have stayed and saved her.-”
“If you stayed you’d be dead too.”
“At least she wouldn’t have died alone!” Mia said and put her face in her hands taking a deep breath. “Fuck.” She said when she re-emerged and looked over at Rose who was watching her intently.
“You dying too, wouldn’t have helped anything.” She said shaking her head. “It wouldn’t change what happened, it would have made it worse. What Roy is going through is bad enough. You know he’s working with my dad.” Rose said in a disgusted and let out a small groan. “Can you fucking believe that? And he’s hooking up with Cheshire again.”
“I’m so sorry…”
Rose ignored her, “Anyone willing to be around my dad is fucked.” She said quietly and let one leg hang off the ledge. “Fucked in the head mostly. I mean what the hell? You fall far, and then you fall farther, and then working with my dad is the next level.”
Mia folded her arms in her lap and looked over at Rose. “Do you know why he’s working with him? Is it just because… I don’t even know. I can’t even think of a reason. Maybe… Cheshire?”
“Why the hell she’s even working with Slade I don’t even know. He shot her the last time they were together. And Black Adam Junior? Tattoo Man?” Rose shrugged her shoulders and let out a sigh. “Roy isn’t the only one there that doesn’t make sense. And them calling themselves the Titans? Well that’s more fucked up then me being back here. I mean everything that is going on, the drugs aren‘t even the worst part. He‘s just given up on everything, everything he used to believe in and strive for. All the shit he’s over come. It’s all out the fucking window. It‘s pathetic.”
“I wish things had happened differently.”
Rose was silent for a moment. “Shit happens. You’ve got to deal with it. So we should deal with it.”
“What?”
“Like go get him and kick some sense into his stupid ass.” Rose said and Mia frowned. “Someone has to. He’s your family.”
“I can’t.” Mia said and looked at her hands. “I don’t have a right to. Family, or not I seriously screwed him over. It’s my fault, and I don’t have a right to go and tell him what he should or shouldn’t do.”
Rose rolled her eyes and stood up. “Yeah, you do. You’re just too scared to do it.” She headed to the door and looked back at Mia. “I get your upset, and feel guilty about what happened. But that’s not going to do any good. You have to deal with what happened and make up for it. Avoiding Roy is pretty much the opposite of that. Call me when your ready to do that.” She turned and left Mia alone.
