GRRR!! Ignorant PEOPLE!

Nov 30, 2004 21:21

Why is it that people are SOOO ignorant?! Instead of asking questions, they assume, they listen to rumors, they are rude, and selfish... and it's just so aggravating. I have noticed that since I've decided to study, and as I tell people about it, or they ask about why I'm reading a WatchTower or an Awake, they seem to turn their backs to me, afraid ( Read more... )

I'm sorry you're going through that... I was pretty much a loner in recent years so I haven't had a reaction from real life friends. I have noticed that many online friends (whom I must confess are 'worldly' and 'bad association' according to Bible standards) have been distant. I've pretty much just decided to leave all that behind, hence the new username, and the friends like you who know what it's like to have the hope and the joy, along with the difficulties of maintaining those in this wicked old system ( ... )

Yes lets please discuss it through an IM. I think it's been a misunderstanding, but honestly you really hurt my feelings summer. I hope we can talk this through, and move on as friends. ;)

im sorry if i hurt your feelings. that was never my intention. but yeah i would like to discuss this through aim. i hope you accept my apology. i guess the stuff i said was taken in a smart alec way, i guess i should've worded it different. it's the internet so no one can understand the tone of voice or w/e to determine how to take it unless it has lol or jk in the sentence.

It helps to always have scriptures to back up your beliefs. If you don't know one off the top of your head, tell the person that you'll get back to them. If they don't believe in the Bible, well, what can you say? That is their problem and their issue of faith to deal with.

It helps to educate yourself in some of the somewhat negative aspects too. Since imperfect humans make up the organizations that control all religions, no religion is perfect and the Watchtower organization HAS made mistakes. Some opposers like to capitilize on these and then turn people against Jehovah's Witnesses. That is like throwing the baby out with the bath water. Just because mistakes have been made, doesn't negate the crystal clear truths that the organization has helped us see and that have not changed at all.

Prophecy is much more complicated than doctrine and it is this area that sometimes concerns me but fortunately Jehovah has the situation firmly in control.
