I can't believe that it passed.

It's not just about marriage and whether gay couples should be allowed to marry or not. It's the principle of the matter.

I must say you did an absolutely fantastic jobs getting your thoughts out and i totally agree with each and every one of them. Whatever happened to the "melting pot of the world" mentality. america is supposed to embrace differences, not reject them and make ridiculous laws against them. this is nuts...i guess every generation needs their struggle. it just sucks that people are that naive...

You have to admit, though, the gay rights people in this state did nothing to stop the proposal from passing. Not that they would have had a chance anyway. Right now, a vast majority of the country is ridiculously ignorant and homophobic.

My advice to the gay rights movement: Wait a few years until an incumbent democrat is elected with control of the congress, and then make a HUGE effort to raise awareness and acceptance. Then you can look for a new piece of civil rights legislation, and that will override all of this state-by-state garbage in one sweep.
